Little about THOHA

Team Hadroh Asshiddiqiyah 2, which is shortened to THOHA is a group of sholawat that deliberately triggered by one teacher of Asshiddiqiyah 2 as a container to preserve and develop the nuances of Islamic art both for the students and especially for Muslims in general. Besides that, a big mission is also embedded in the identity of Thoha that the art is expected to inspire the hearts of non-Muslims around the world to obtain guidance from Allah and embrace Islam. 

Along with the times, where many young people today who like the music that is far from Islamic law both in the song, and the way the singer who sings as well as performances from singers, thus making them further away from God and His Prophet. Thoha appeared among us to fortify young people from the influence of the times that are less good. 

THOHA has a routine activity in boarding every Thursday night, reading barzanji and sholawat followed by all students of Asshiddiqiyah. The students always follow this activity with pleasure and sincerity, they even read sholawat with full spirit and enthusiasm with hadroh musical accompaniment. THOHA also often attends public invitations to read sholawat accompanied by the rhythm of hadroh tambourines. 

THOHA also accommodates students who want to learn to play hadroh tambourine music, they follow the exercises on the days specified. Little by little they feel that reading sholawat to the Prophet Muhammad is a spiritual for their own soul and pleasure.

Rebana Hadroh Introduction

Hadroh, Rebana

        One of Islamic music traditional in Indonesia since Islam came to this country until now is Rebana. One of Rebana is called Hadroh. This traditional music usually played in meeting of the spreader of Islam in  Demak mosque whom usually called "wali songo". Many moslem in Indonesia still like this kind of music very much because the beautiful and nice sound that produced by that music. Rebana Hadroh is bigger than Rebana Ketimpring. It is also called Rebana Gedug as for the pronunciation of  'u' sound closer to '0 ', so it becomes' gedok'. This Hadroh midline approximately 30 cm and at least consists of three or four rebana and one bass that has midline between 50cm-100cm. And we can have more than it. to get louder sound and usually it depends on the number of audience, more audience more instrument. The way to play it instead of regular hit but was beaten like a drum playing. First instrument is called "bawa". The second instrument is called "ganjil" or "seling". For bawa and seling, some people call it "Tanya and Jawab". The third is called "gedug". Somebody call it "bass" because of its big voice. "Bawa" or "Tanya" has function as a command, its swing rhythm is faster. Ganjil atau seling berfungsi saling mengisi dengan bawa. "Ganjil" or "jawab" functioning co-exist with "Bawa". Gedug serves as a bass.

        There are four types of  punches Rebana Hadroh, namely: tepak, kentang, gedung, and pentit. The four types of punches come with the names of the rhythmic punch. Name rhythm punch, among others: pukulan jalan rhythm, sander, shabu, pegatan, sirih panjang, sirih pendek and bima. Rebana Hadroh songs taken from Addibaai poetry and Diiwan Hadroh poetry. And lately many people often sing the songs taken from Simtuddurar created by Al-'Alim Al 'Alamah Al 'Arif billah Al Habib Ali bin Muhammad Al Habsyi (1333H) Yang khas dari pertunjukan Rebana Hadroh adalah Adu Zikir. Typical of the show of Rebana Hadroh is Dzikir together. In this Dzikir perform two successive groups read Diiwan Hadroh poetry.The lost group is generally group that is less familiar with Diiwan Hadroh poetry. Punch in Rebana Hadroh is more melodic than the punch in other rebana, left hand fingers are often used to press, hold, even snapping leather cover (wangkis) from the inside. Mudehir who passed away in 1960 became a legendary figure of Rebana Hadroh art. He has a perfect technical skills. Kinds of his punch is very variation. Even with his foot, rebana sound was still perfect. His voice is beautiful and the power of memorizing Diiwan Hadroh poetry is very good.
